Tips On Washing Land Rovers In The Summer Without Streaks

Most car owners enjoy washing their Land Rovers in the summer, as they can make the most of the good weather while still doing something productive. However, bright sunshine can leave streaks and water spots after washing, so it is important to do it properly so your car continues to look its best.

Before getting started, use drying cloths to remove any loose debris from the exterior and wash it with water and a car cleaning solution.

Make sure to use the right cleaning products on your reconditioned Land Rover, as you don’t want to cause damage to the paintwork. You can use a dual-action polisher on tiny scratches, which helps to smooth them out.

They also give the car a polished look after it’s been washed. Using an orbital buffer, you can make sure the polish is applied properly all over the vehicle.

It is important not to let your car air-dry, particularly in warm weather, as this is when water spots and streaks are formed.

In fact, it is sensible to avoid cleaning your car during the hottest parts of the day, as the sunshine will evaporate the water faster than you can dry it with a microfibre cloth. Therefore, it is best to wash it either early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the temperature is cooler.

Wax is also a good idea, as it helps the car stay shiny as well as protects the paintwork from the sunshine, which is a must during the summer months. A thin layer will suffice, as using too much could damage your paint in the long run.

Don’t forget to wipe the windows with an ammonia-free solution. For the wheels, use an acid-free pH balanced aluminium wheel cleaner for the tyres and wheels. It is sensible to spend time on the wheels, as this can help the car last longer.

However, make sure you clean the tyres first before the body of the car, so you can wash away any debris that comes off the tyres.
