Jaguar Land Rover has got fans of the brand excited again with a new announcement, with the release of the 2022 Range Rover Sport SVR Ultimate edition.
The design of the new vehicle is described as being “sportier”, with a “powerful, muscular stance” and offering a “contemporary feel wherever you look”.
Its technological elements include the Land Rover Touch Pro Duo in-car infotainment system, which “beautifully integrates two 10-inch high-definition Touchscreens”.
Aesthetically, it has all the usual luxurious interior elements and is available in a choice of three colours: Satin Ligurian Black, Gloss Marl Gray, and Gloss Maya Blue. There will also be touches like black Range Rover lettering on the hood and tailgate and white edging on the side fender vents.
However, many people will be keenest to know about the engine and performance. Land Rover said “The 5.0 litre V8 Supercharged Petrol engine offers an improved output of 525hp and the combination of an advanced Ingenium petrol engine and electric motor delivers the remarkable performance of Range Rover Sport PHEV.”
Anyone seeking a V8 Land Rover engine for sale to boost their existing V8 version might be keen to see how far a replacement for their existing engine might go towards matching the performance of the latest V8 SUV.
Interest in the new model is certainly going to grow, with the vehicle set to make its public debut in the Salon Prive at Blenheim Palace on September 1st.
Reviewing the vehicle, Auto Blog suggested this was the latest in a long line of special editions that Range River is producing as “a last hurrah for the current-generation SUV before the all-new model debuts sometime soon”.
It predicted that the next generation Range River SUV, when it arrives, is “expected to do so without the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 and its 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque in the line-up”.
That remains to be seen, but the latest V8 is certainly going to make a few heads turn.
