Winston Churchill was famously gifted a Land Rover Series 1 for his 80th birthday in 1964.
The former prime minister received the car, which was registered UKE 80, in honour of his leadership of Britain during the Second World War.
The car, which is now held at the Emil Frey Classics Museum in Safenwil, Switzerland, originally had a galvanised front bumper with the UKE 80 number plate, and a radiator grill of metal mesh.
JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) has now released an updated version of this iconic vehicle, with just ten available to buy in the world.
The Classic Defender V8 Churchill Edition is finished in Bronze Green and replicates the original style of the vehicle. The exterior paint can also be found on the 16-inch wheels and the centre console.
At the front, there is a single, matt black headlight insight, and there are custom-made emblems at the back, as well as a UKE 80 decor on the front wings.
The finish inside is semi-aniline leather in Bottle Green, as well as Windsor leather in Ebony, which is on the trim and headliner.
The dashboard has a clock with a blue dial and red stripe, which gives a nod to Churchill’s favourite champagne brand, Pol Roger.
Of course, being 60 years on from the original production of the Series 1 vehicle, these models have been updated to include a 5.0-litre V8, with horsepower of 405. It also has an eight-speed ZF automatic, as well as Eibach coil springs, Bilstein dampers, and uprated anti-roll bars.
There are three versions available – the 90 hard and soft top, and 110 Station Wagon, with prices starting at £232,500 for these exclusive vehicles before VAT.This makes these ten vehicles unaffordable for the vast majority of JLR fans, which is why many choose to buy reconditioned Land Rover engines for sale.
Though these might not have the power of brand new engines, the legacy of Land Rover proves they can still be used to make formidable cars.
