New Yorkshire ‘Lattes and Land Lovers’ Meet Announced

Land Rover owners have been invited to series of meets at Twisted’s new showroom in Thirsk, allowing visitors to enjoy a drive through the local countryside before enjoying a hot drink and some breakfast at the Anti-Roll Bar Café, with showroom staff on hand to chat about their modification work.

Land Rover Owner International reports that the first of the ‘Lattes and Land Rovers’ meets is scheduled for 27 July from 8.30 am to 10.30 am.

At present, the itinerary for the meet is to be decided, and while booking is not required for attendance, guests are urged to maintain social distancing and wear face masks.

Twisted founder Charles Fawcett said: “We are thrilled to be able to welcome fellow Defender fans to Thirsk once more. These monthly meet-ups will be a fantastic way to explore the heritage and future innovations of our brand, as well as having the opportunity to chat to our team and fellow enthusiasts.”

The venue for the meet dates back to the 1910s, when it was Thirsk’s Gaiety Theatre, before becoming a garage in the 1970s, and then was bought by Land Rover modification specialists Twisted in 2020, who extensively renovated the property, adding hospitality faculties and a showroom.

Renamed to The Old Cinema, it is now a showroom for 25 vehicles, including some of the remaining stock of the 240 lasts-off-the-line Defenders bought from Jaguar Land Rover by Twisted.

Fawcett added that the building is alive with history, and the old cinema screen can still be seen from the offices up in the rafters of the building.
